# Searching & Filtering Contacts

### How can I find a specific contact?

Use the **Search contacts** input at the top of the page to search by:

* Contact name
* Phone number

The results update instantly, helping you locate contacts even in large lists.

### How do filters work in the contact list?

Filters allow you to narrow down contacts based on relevance and eligibility. Available filters include:

* All contacts
* New contacts
* Safe to message
* Recently imported
* Groups

Using filters helps you focus on the right audience and avoid messaging ineligible or inactive contacts.
